Box Score Virginia Union University's Omar Briggs scored 19 points while teammate Juan Wilson added 18 points to lift VUU to a 79-68 win over Bowie State University on Wednesday, February 13, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

The win gave VUU a 5-2 CIAA Northern Division record, putting the Panthers in a virtual tie for first place of the Northern Division.  Elizabeth City State University and Lincoln (Pa.) University have identical 5-2 Northern Division records.

VUU's Wesley Simmons also scored 15 points while Cordero Holt added 12 points.

Briggs also had a double-double with 11 rebounds.

The win raised VUU's record to 9-12 overall and 6-7 in the CIAA.  Bowie State fell to 9-13 overall and 5-8 in CIAA play.

Virginia now travels to Lincoln University, Pa., to face Lincoln (Pa.) University on Saturday, February 16 at 7:30 p.m.
