Box Score Virginia Union University's Omar Briggs scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but Fayetteville State University defeated VUU 84-81 in a non-conference match-up on Tuesday, December 17, in Fayetteville, N.C.

Briggs hit eight of 11 shots from the field, including scoring 14 points in the second half, while also grabbing seven offensive rebounds.

VUU's freshman phenom, Ray Anderson, led the Panthers in scoring with 22 points while Avery Jirmnson added 11 points in the game.

The loss dropped Virginia Union to 2-8 on the season while Fayetteville State is now 5-3.

VUU now takes off for the holidays, and will resume action when the Panthers travel to Winston-Salem, N.C., to face Winston-Salem State University on January 2 at 7:30 p.m.
