Box Score Virginia Union University's Wesley Simmons scored 14 points while teammate Juan Wilson added 13 point to power VUU to a 75-72 upset over Fayetteville State University in Felton J. Capel Arena in Fayetteville, N.C., on Saturday, January 12.

VUU broke into the lead in the second half and held the Broncos at bay despite Tyrrel Tate scoring 27 points.

Virginia Union's Calvin Brown added eight points and Te'Quan Alers led the Panthers with seven rebounds.

The game marked the first CIAA win of the season for VUU.

The win raised VUU's record to 3-9 overall and 1-4 in the CIAA.  Fayetteville State fell to 8-6 overall and 3-2 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now travels to Raleigh, N.C., to face Saint Augustine's University on Monday, January 14, at 7:30 p.m.
