VUU Salutes Seniors at Home Finale

Box Score Virginia Union University's Jamaal Blalock scored 13 points while Calvin Brown added 11 points, but it wasn't enough as Bowie State University stopped the Panthers 101-82 in the home finale on Monday, February 20, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

Before the game, VUU said good-bye to Blalock and teammate Juan Richards, both seniors who were playing their last game in the famed basketball arena.

Richards scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds in his finale in Barco-Stevens Hall.

VUU's Damion Harris led the Panthers with eight rebounds.

The loss enabled Bowie State to clinch the number-one seed in the Northern Division of the CIAA while VUU wrapped up the second seed in the North.

VUU fell to 15-12 overall and 10-5 in the CIAA.  Bowie State is now 20-5 overall and 12-4 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union wraps up the 2011-12 regular season with a trip to Elizabeth City, N.C., to face Elizabeth City State University on Thursday, February 23.
