Box Score Virginia Union University's Cordero Holt scored 17 points to lead VUU to an 88-68 win over Livingstone College on Saturday, January 14, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

Holt scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half as VUU broke a three-game skid.

VUU's Calvin Brown added 14 points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds while teammate Wesley Simmons scored 11 points in the win.

Virginia Union's Juan Wilson rounded out the Panthers with double-figure scoring with 10 points.

Livingstone was led by Mark Thomas' 24 points.

The win raised VUU's record to 7-10 overall and 2-3 in CIAA play.  Livingstone fell to 3-7 overall and 0-4 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now travels to the Richmond Coliseum to face arch-rival Virginia State University in the 2012 Freedom Classic at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 15.  Live audio of the game will be available at www.vuusports.com.
