Box Score Virginia Union University's Wesley Simmons scored 19 points as VUU downed the University of South Carolina Aiken 75-69 on Friday, December 30, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

Simmons hit seven of 12 shots from the field and went 5-for-7 from the free throw line.

VUU's Cordero Holt added 10 points and had a team-high eight rebounds in the win.

The Panthers shot a blistering 51.8% from the field while holding USC Aiken to 38.8%.

The win raised VUU's record to 6-7 on the season while USC Aiken dropped to 8-2.

The Panthers travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to face Winston-Salem State University on January 7, 2012.
