Virginia Union University's Wesley Simmons scored 24 points to lead VUU to a 97-80 exhibition win over Fort Meade in a men's basketball game on October 29 in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

Simmons connected on 10 of 15 shots from the field and was a perfect four-for-four from the free-throw line.

VUU's Omar Gainey and Joshua Miller had 13 points apiece while Jamaal Blalock scored 11 points.

Virginia Union shot 47.6% from the field (39 of 82) while holding Fort Meade to 39.4% from the field.

VUU will wrap up the exhibition basketball season when they meet Washington Adventist University at 7:00 p.m. on November 8 in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
