Branden McDonald dished off a career-high tying 11 assists as VUU routed Chowan University 96-44 on January 29 in Murfreesboro, N.C.
Byerson hit 11 of 17 shots from the field, including three three-pointers.
McDonald's 11 assists tied his career-high of 11 assists he had against California (Pa.) on November 27, 2010.
The school record for assists in a single game is 16, set by VUU's Adrian Hill against the University of the District of Columbia on February 20, 1993.

Jamaal Blalock added 17 points in the win while teammate
Wayne Ford garnered 16 points. VUU's
James Theus rounded out the Panthers who reached double-figures with 11 points.
VUU's
Juan Wilson, Josh Miller and
Reggie Smalls each had six rebounds in the win.
Chowan was led by Deandre Tyree's 13 points.
The win raised VUU's record to 8-6 overall and 6-3 in CIAA play. Chowan falls to 1-17 overall and 0-10 in the CIAA.
VUU now returns home to Barco-Stevens Hall to face Lincoln University on January 31. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
