Virginia Union University's Brandon Smith scored 16 points and teammate
Braxton Byerson added 12 points, but Saint Paul's College defeated VUU 71-56 on January 24 in Brunswick High School in Lawrenceville, Va.
Smith hit seven of 15 shots from the field, including two three-pointers.

Branden McDonald added 11 points while Byerson pulled down six rebounds.
The win was the first time a Saint Paul's team defeated Virginia Union since January 15, 2002, when the Tigers stopped the Panthers 82-74 in Lawrenceville, Va.
The loss drops VUU too 7-6 overall and 5-3 in CIAA play while Saint Paul's raised their record to 6-8 overall and 3-4 in the CIAA.
VUU now travels to Murfreesboro, N.C., to face Chowan University on January 24 at 7:30 p.m.
