Braxton Byerson scored a game-high 24 points while
Wayne Ford had nine rebounds to power VUU to a hard-fought 67-64 win over Shaw University on January 10 in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
Byerson hit seven of 13 shots from the field while going 8-for-10 from the free throw circle.
VUU's
Juan Wilson had nine points in the win while Ford added eight points.
Shaw was led in scoring by Darryl Johnson and Tony Smith, who scored 12 points apiece.
The win broke a two-game losing streak for the Panthers and evened their record at 4-4 overall and 2-1 in the CIAA.
Shaw dropped to 9-3 overall an 2-1 in CIAA play.
VUU now faces Saint Augustine's College on January 13 in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
