Virginia Union University's Braxton Byerson scored 18 points while Branden McDonald added 13 points, but Virginia Commonwealth University stopped the Panthers 71-56 on November 4 in the Siegel Center in Richmond, Va.

VUU's Juan Wilson pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and McDonald dished out five assists.

VCU was paced by Jamie Skeen, Rob Brandenburg and Brandon Rozzell, who scored 10 points apiece.

The exhibition contest was the last for VUU, who will begin the regular-season with a November 29 match-up against California (Pa.) at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
