Lawrenceville, Virginia – Virginia Union University played their best under pressure against Saint Paul's College winning 75-72 Saturday night.
After being up by 15-points at halftime, the Tigers returned and tied up the score at 67 with 3:30 left on the clock. Panthers kept the lead with key defensive stops towards the end of the game.
Three Panthers finished in double-figures, Greg Thondique led the team with 29 points and 10 rebounds. Braxton Byerson's jumper at 16 second left in the game cash him in with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Lemoyne Williams finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Virginia Union University's next game will be on Thursday, January 15th against Livingstone College. Schedule time is at 7:30pm in Barco-Stevens gym.
