Richardson-Keyes set the tone early with strong defensive pressure that led to transition opportunities, helping the Panthers establish momentum.
Coach's Comments
"We expected a tough game today from Lincoln," said VUU Head Men's Basketball Coach
Jay Butler. "They're one of the best rebounding teams in the league, so we knew it was going to be a challenge on the boards with their size. I thought Noah got us off to a good start defensively that led to some easy baskets in transition. We had our opportunities to put them away in the second half, but we started turning the ball over, and we let Lincoln get hot from the three-point line to keep the game close. We made key stops down the stretch when we needed to and knocked down free throws to get the win."
Next Game
Virginia Union returns to action on February 14, traveling to Bowie, Md., to face Bowie State University in another key CIAA matchup.
