Virginia Union University's Dequan Boone has been named the CIAA Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Norfolk State Invitational, held on Saturday, April 5, in Norfolk, Va.

Boone, a junior from Courtland, Va., who is majoring in psychology with a 2.89 grade point average,  placed 4th in the shot put at the NSU Invitational \with a season-best mark of 14.92m.  He also secured 3rd place in the hammer throw with a personal mark of 46.50m.
