Virginia Union University is proud to announce that Zachary Jones will compete in the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Emporia State University.

Jones currently ranks eighth in NCAA Division II in the discus, marking another outstanding achievement in an already remarkable career at Virginia Union. Since arriving on campus, he has consistently performed at a championship level, earning multiple conference titles, Field Athlete of the Year honors, and numerous weekly Field Athlete of the Week awards.

"We are extremely proud of the hard work, dedication, and commitment he has shown to reach this moment," said VUU Head Track & Field Coach Franck Charles. "Zachary now holds all of the school records in the throwing events, and he now has an opportunity to make history as the first thrower in Virginia Union University history to earn All-American honors on May 22.

"Once again, we are incredibly proud of him and excited to watch him compete on the national stage."
