Chester, VA — Virginia Union University proudly announces that Raina Joy was crowned Miss Greater Richmond, showcasing the spirit and ambition of young women in our community.
The event featured a wide range of talented contestants competing in categories like evening wear, talent, and interviews. Each participant demonstrated grace and poise while highlighting their commitment to community service and personal growth.
Raina Joy, a passionate advocate for mental health awareness, impressed the judges with her heartfelt platform and talent performance. Her contributions to Virginia Union University are notable; she has served as Miss Freshman, Miss Sophomore, and Miss Maroon & Steel. Additionally, Raina is a member of the Panther cheerleaders, also known as the Rah Rahs, works as a Residential Hall RA, and is part of the Ministry E-Board.
"Raina Joy has always been the kind of young woman to chase after whatever she sets her mind to," said VUU Head Cheer Coach Danielle Johnson. "I just love seeing our alumni succeed and chase their dreams. We're beyond proud of her, and we wish Raina nothing but excellence and success on this incredible journey."
