The first outdoor meet for the Virginia Union University women's track & field team was a challenge, but they were ready to put in the work at the Fred Hardy Invitational, held at the University of Richmond on March 20-21. "We have a lot of talented female athletes, and with a continued effort and dedication, we'll see strong results throughout the season," said VUU Head Track & Field Coach Franck Charles.
Congratulations to Abijah Jepkemboi, who is now the school record holder in the 5,000m, running a time of 19:36.80!
Kayla Lee also had a strong start, placing 5th overall in the 100m dash with a time of 12.43, and was part of the 4x100m relay team, which finished 2nd.

VUU also had strong performances from
Christal Rolack and
Jade Lane, both showing great potential for the season ahead. "We're excited to keep building and improving as the season progresses," said Charles.
VUU will now travel to Salisbury, N.C., to compete in the Blue Bear Invitational, to be held at Livingstone College on Saturday, March 29.
