Women's Track & Field Finishes 6th at CIAA Indoor Championships

The Union Women's Track and Field team had a remarkable showing this season, finishing 6th overall! A testament to their dedication, talent, and hard work, this result reflects the team's ongoing progress and growth under the leadership of Head Coach Franck Charles.

Individual Highlights
  • Jade Lee delivered an exceptional performance in the Long Jump, securing 2nd place! Her consistency and technique continue to make her a standout competitor.
  • Kayle Lee had a phenomenal run in the 60m dash, making it to the final with a season-best time of 7.83 seconds, showcasing her speed and resilience.
  • The Women's 4x400m Relay team also had a solid finish, securing 6th place, proving that teamwork and strategy are key components of their success.
A Word from Head Coach Franck Charles
Head Coach Franck Charles expressed his pride in the team's performance while also acknowledging the room for improvement. "I want to congratulate Jade Lee and Kayle Lee for their continued success since arriving at Union," said Charles. "We have a lot of talented women on our team, but we need to get everyone on the same page to perform at their best. Our goal is to bring the women's program to the same level as the men's, and I truly believe we can make it happen."

Charles pointed out that despite finishing 6th this season, the team has made significant progress from last year's 10th place finish. "That's progress in the right direction. But we know we can do better, and we will be better this outdoor season."

Looking Ahead
The team is already focused on their next goal: the upcoming outdoor season. Their first outdoor meet will be on March 21st at the University of Richmond, where they'll continue to build on their momentum and work toward even greater success.

The future looks bright for Union's Women's Track and Field team, and we can't wait to see what they accomplish next!
