The Virginia Union University women's bowling team was back in action for the second consecutive week, competing in CIAA Event I held in Chester, Va., and hosted by Virginia State University.

"The ladies showed improvement from the first competition," said VUU Head Bowling Coach James Washington. "They all bowled better, and the scores reflected it. The team actually picked up their first victory of the season with a hard-fought win against Elizabeth City State University. I was very proud of the team for their dedication and commitment. I know we have a lot of work to do, but I believe this team will continue to practice and put in the effort to win some games next semester."

The Lady Panthers will return to action in January at CIAA Event II in Charlotte, N.C.
