Virginia Union University's volleyball team earned a dominant 3-0 victory over Randolph College (25-20, 26-24, 25-21) on Tuesday evening inside Barco-Stevens Hall.

The Panthers displayed a balanced attack and strong defense throughout the match, improving their record to 7-8 on the season.

Madison Hill led VUU with 12 kills, while Maria Pena and Aireanna Johnson each added eight kills apiece. Setter Ashlee Franklin paced the offense with 34 assists and 11 digs, while Alana Simmons contributed eight kills and 10 digs. Leilah Beasley anchored the defense with nine digs and one service ace.

At the net, Alexandra Perot tallied six kills and three block assists, helping the Panthers record 7.5 team blocks.
 

"The team displayed excellent teamwork and cohesion tonight, which is exactly the momentum we need as we head into our conference matchup on Thursday," said VUU Head Volleyball Coach Anetra Sims.

Virginia Union returns to the court on Thursday, October 9, when the Panthers open conference play at home in Barco-Stevens Hall.
