RICHMOND, VA – The Virginia Union University volleyball team continued its strong play Friday night with a commanding
3–0 sweep (25–21, 25–15, 25–22) over Ferrum College inside Barco-Stevens Hall. The victory improves the Lady Panthers to
9–8 overall and marks their
third straight win to close out a successful week of competition.
Madison Hill led the Panthers with
11 kills while hitting an outstanding
.688 and added
four block assists.
Aireanna Johnson followed with
eight kills,
seven digs, and
two blocks, while
Alana Simmons contributed across the board with
five kills,
10 digs, and
two service aces. Setter
Ashlee Franklin orchestrated the offense with
29 assists, four block assists, and five digs.
Virginia Union's serving proved crucial, with the Panthers collecting
10 aces as
Maria Pena led from the line with
three aces and added
four digs. Defensively,
Leilah Beasley anchored the back row with
13 digs, helping VUU limit Ferrum to a .105 hitting percentage.

The Lady Panthers return to action next week as they look to extend their win streak heading into conference play. VUU will host Lincoln University of Pennsylvania at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
