Six members of the Virginia Union University outdoor track & field teams have been named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State Team.
VUU's
Toni Middlebrooks, a freshman from Gainesville, Fla., was named to the Women's Track & Field Team as a sprinter.
Virginia Union's
Jalen Hinton, a junior from Chesapeake, Va., was named to the men's team in hurdles.
VUU's
Zachary Jones, a freshman from Chester, Va., was named to the men's team in throws.
Virginia Union's
Alpha Balde, a freshman from Baltimore, Md., was named to the men's team as a sprinter.
The VUU men's 4x400 relay team of Balde, Hinton,
Marcus Phifer and
Mychael Tucker was named First-Team All-State.
Pfifer is a sophomore from Winston-Salem, N.C., while Tucker is a freshman from Tampa, Fla.
"I am very proud that our 4x400m relay team made the first team," said Virginia Union Head Track & Field Coach Franck Charles. "We fought hard all season to overcome many challenges, and I'm happy we did it. Congratulations to
