Virginia Union University's Aiden Bryce Laws has been named the CIAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Wednesday, April 10.

Laws, a freshman from New Castle, Del., who is majoring in chemistry, clinched first place in the 400 meter dash at the NSU Invitational with a time of 49.19. He continues to display a hunger for growth by securing third place in the 200 meter dash against a very impressive group of athletes, all achieving very impressive times. He now holds a great freshman personal best time of 21.42. Furthermore, he was part of the 4x100m relay team that came in first.

"I'm happy to see Aiden Laws putting in the effort to improve for the outdoor track season, despite a challenging indoor season," said VUU Head Track & Field Coach Franck Charles. "I'm confident he has the potential to emerge victorious in the CIAA conference championship. As always, I encourage him to finish strong."

Virginia Union will now travel to compete at Christopher Newport University on Friday, April 19, in Newport News, Va.
