Virginia Union University's
Tahj Harding scored 16 points as VUU opened the 2024-25 basketball season with a 79-58 win over the University of Pitt-Johnstown on the first day of the Atlantic Region Challenge on Friday, November 8, in Slippery Rock, Pa.
VUU's
Che Evans added 14 points while
Jonathan King pulled down seven rebounds in the win.
"This was a good win on the road for us," said VUU Head Men's Basketball Coach
Jay Butler. "I thought the guys was really good on the defensive end in the second half only giving up 22 points. Anytime you can keep a good team like Pitt Johnstown under 60 points is good team defense. Tahj did a good job getting us off to a good start scoring inside and out.
Che Evans was very efficient from the 3-point line, going a perfect 4 for 4."
VUU will play host Slippery Rock University on Saturday, November 9, in Slippery Rock, Pa.
