Virginia Union University's
Bobby Gardner led the team with eight rebounds, but Johnson C. Smith University defeated the Panthers 67-65 on Tuesday, November 26, in Charlotte, N.C.
VUU's
Tahj Harding led the Panthers with 17 points while teammate
Malachi Dark added 12 points in the game.
"You have to give Johnson C Smith credit for playing a hard-fought game," said VUU Head Men's Basketball Coach
Jay Butler. "When you're on the road you have to make your free throws, value the basketball, and be very disciplined. Tonight, we lost by two points, and we did none of those key things to get the win. We must correct those things over the Thanksgiving break before we face Augusta at the Barco."
Virginia Union will play host to Augusta University at 2:00 p.m. On Saturday, November 30, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
