Virginia Union University's
Malachi Dark scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to record his first collegiate double-double, but Augusta University defeated the Panthers 81-74 on Saturday, November 30, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
VUU's
Tahj Harding and
Jonathan Salazar scored 15 points apiece in the win.
"This was another game that we had our opportunities today and missed free throws, poor rebounding, and not taking care of the basketball down the stretch was the difference in the game," said VUU Head Men's Basketball Coach
Jay Butler. "I was very proud of
Malachi Dark today. He did a great job scoring with the basketball inside and making his free throws. We have another tough game coming up against Claflin University and we must correct those mistakes to put ourselves in position to finish these games."
VUU will now face Claflin University at 7:30 p.m. On Thursday, December 5, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
