Virginia Union University's
O'Maundre Harris and
Tahj Harding scored 17 points apiece to lead VUU to an 86-81 win over Concord University on Wednesday, November 13, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
Harris also led the Panthers with five rebounds in the win.
VUU's
Keysean Faulkner-Smith and
Bobby Gardner scored 10 points apiece in the game.
"It was good to get our first win at home in front of a nice crowd at the Barco," said VUU Head Men's Basketball Coach
Jay Butler. "I thought we came out very aggressive on the offensive end but not very focused on the defensive end in the first half. We came out in the second half with a better effort on defense and that allowed us to get some easy baskets in transition. Anytime you can get four players in double figures and two with nine points is always a good team effort."
Virginia Union is now 3-0 on the season. The Panthers will now travel to Washington, D.C., to face the University of the District of Columbia at 3:15 p.m. On Saturday, November 16.
