Volleyball: Bowie State 3, VUU 2

Virginia Union University's Alana Simmons had 15 kills and four service aces, but Bowie State University defeated the Lady Panthers 3-2 on Thursday, October 10, in Bowie, Md.

VUU's Jade Lane had seven blocks while teammate Lillian Willams collected 19 assists.

Virginia Union's Jasmine Powell also had 14 defensive digs in the game.

"I'm incredibly proud of the girls for their tenacity in the match," said VUU Head Volleyball Coach Danielle Perry.  "Although we fell just short in the end, we've identified a few key areas to refine as we prepare for conference play ahead."

VUU will now travel to Lincoln University, Pa., to face the Lincoln University of Pennsylvania at 6:00 p.m. On Monday, October 14.
