Virginia Union University's Alana Simmons had 16 kills on 30 total attacks as the Lady Panthers downed the Lincoln University of Pennsylvania 3-1 on Monday, October 14, in Lincoln University, Pa.

VUU's Jade Lane had 11 kills and six service aces while teammate Ashlee Franklin had 16 defensive digs in the win.

"I'm incredibly proud of how we played today," said VUU Head Volleyball Coach Danielle Perry.  "We stayed composed, trusted each other, and fought for every point. This win reflects all the hard work we've put in—it's a true team effort."

Virginia Union will now travel to Bluefield, W.V., to face Bluefield State University at 6:00 p.m. On Thursday, October 17.
