Virginia Union University's women's cross-country team finished first in the Virginia State University Trojan Invite while the VUU Men's Team placed second at the event held on Friday, October 11, in Petersburg, Va.
The VSU meet was a great tune-up before the CIAA Championship. The women were led by
Toni Middlebrooks, who finished in second place, while the men were led by
Franklin Kipchirchir, who finished first.
"We're going to use this last week and a half to get ready for the CIAA Championship," said VUU Cross-Country Coach Franck Charles. "We started the season strong, and now we have to finish strong on October 24 in Salem, Va., I have faith in all of our athletes to do amazing at the CIAA Championship meet."
