Virginia Union University's Ashlee Franklin had 15 assists and two service aces, but Barton College defeated the Lady Panthers 25-8, 25-14, 26-24 on Tuesday, September 5, in Wilson, N.C.
 
VUU's Alana Simmons led the team with eight kills, three aces, two blocks and five defensive digs.
 
"It was a tough night for our ladies, said VUU Head Volleyball Coach Joe Sullivan. "We need to refocus on bettering the ball"
 
The loss drops VUU record to 2-1 on the season.
