Virginia Union University's volleyball team gained a split at the Goldey-Beacom Tri-Match on Saturday, September 9, defeating host Goldey-Beacom College 26-24, 25-11, 25-20, but lost to Pace University 25-19, 18-25, 25-17, 11-25, 15-10 in Wilmington, Del.
VUU's
Alana Simmons had 13 kills against Goldey-Beacom and 19 kills and 18 digs against Pace.
Virginia Union's
Aireanna Johnson had 11 kills against Goldey-Beacom and 12 kills against Pace.
"My Lady Panthers battled hard this weekend and we're happy with their effort!" said VUU Head Volleyball Coach Joe Sullivan. "They definitely played hard for each other!  We will stay focused on the small things that we need to clean up and build on the positives!"
VUU is now 3-2 on the season. The Lady Panthers will now travel to Mount Olive, N.C., to face the University of Mount Olive at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12.
