Virginia Union University honored those student-athletes who have achieved stellar performance in the classroom and have epitomized what it really means to be a STUDENT-athlete on Saturday, February 11, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.  A total of 170 student-athletes achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better, up from 147 student-athletes from 2022.

The student-athletes with 3.00 to 3.49 grade point average were honored at halftime of the men's basketball game, the 3.50 to 3.99 GPA student-athletes were celebrated between the men's and women's game, and the 4.0 GPA student-athletes were honored at halftime of the women's basketball game.

Each student-athlete received an academic certificate with their GPA signed by Virginia Union President Hakim Lucas and Vice-President of Athletics and Community Wellness Joe Taylor.
