Virginia Union University's
Jonathan Salazar scored 15 points and hauled down a team-high six rebounds, but Livingstone College defeated VUU 83-80 on Thursday, December 14, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
VUU's
Tahj Harding led the Panthers by scoring 20 points, while teammate
Jonathan King scored 14 and
Travis Vaughn added 10 points in the game.
"It's always tough staying focus during finals and today was one of those games where we didn't lock in for 40 minutes." said VUU Head Men's Basketball Coach
Jay Butler. "I also thought Livingstone did a good job moving the ball and ended up getting some wide-open looks from the three-point line that we normally don't give up. We have to play much better on Saturday defensively if we want to go into the Christmas break at .500."
Virginia Union will play host to Johnson C. Smith University at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
