Virgnia Union University's
Aireanna Johnson, a sophomore from Fort Worth, Tex., who is majoring in Psychology, and Alan Simmons, a freshman from Upper Marlboro, Md., who is majoring in Computer Information Systems, had seven kills apiece, but Virginia State University defeated the Lady Panthers 25-21, 26-24, 25-18 on Monday, November 6, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
The match was the last home game of the season for VUU, who said good-bye to seniors

Jade Lane.
Miller a senior from Lynchburg, Va., who is majoring in Health Sciences, led the Lady Panthers with 17 defensive digs while Lane, a senior from Lynchburg, Va., who is majoring in Mass Communications, led the team with five blocks.

Ashlee Franklin, a sophomore from Stafford, Va., who is majoring in Social Work, had 20 assists.
"Our ladies played hard for each other tonight," said VUU Head Volleyball Coach Joe Sullivan. "We have to stay focused on fixing the small things that have big implications!"
Virginia Union wraps up the 2023 regular season when they travel to Elizabeth City, N.C., to face Elizabeth City State University at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 9.
