Virginia Union University's
Tahj Harding scored 17 points as VUU downed Fayetteville State University 63-60 on Saturday, November 25, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
VUU's
Jonathan King led the Panthers with seven rebounds as Virginia Union evened their record at 4-4.
"It's always good to get a win at home against one of the top teams in the CIAA," said VUU Head Coach
Jay Butler. "I thought we came out and defended really well today. Anytime you can hold a good offensive team like Fayetteville State to 60 points, that is a good game defensively. Offensively we struggled to score throughout the game, but we found ways to make plays down the stretch to get the win.
Tahj Harding didn't shoot well tonight but he did a great job attacking the basket and getting to the foul line."
Virginia Union will now travel to Augusta, Ga., to face Pain College at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1.
