Virginia Union University's
Robert Osborne led the Panthers with 19 points and six rebounds, but Catawba College defeated the Panthers 82-70 on Tuesday, January 3, in Salisbury, N.C.
VUU's
Keleaf Tate scored 14 points while teammate
Devon Sims added 13 points in the game.
"When you're playing on the road against a good Catawba team you must take care of the basketball and rebound well," said VUU Head Men's Basketball Coach
Jay Butler. "We struggled tonight in both of those categories and Catawba took full advantage of the extra opportunities to get the win."
Virginia Union now returns home to Barco-Stevens Hall to face Claflin University at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 5.
