The Virginia Union University women's cross-country team opened the 2022 season by competing in the University of Richmond Spider Alumni Open on Saturday, September 3, at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va.
The Lady Panthers finished 15th in the race which featured many Division I schools.
VUU's Christal Rolack was the top Lady Panther finisher, completing the four-kilometer race in a time of 22:05.2.
"We've got some work to do," said VUU Head Cross-Country Coach
Franck Charles. ""There's no excuse for the women's performance today. If you're a sprinter or jumper or whatever, you're supposed to be able to do it all. We've got some work to do, and that's it."

The Lady Panthers will next compete in the Virginia State University Fall Opener at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9, in Petersburg, Va.
