Virginia Union University's Thariq Walters made the finals of the long jump at the VMI Team Challenge in Lexington, Va., on Saturday, December 3.

VUU's Jalen Hinton also made the finals in the 60-meter dash.

"Congratulations to Jalen Hinton for making the finals in the 60m and congratulations to Thariq Walters for making the finals in the Long jump," said VUU Head Men's Track and Field Coach Charles Frank.  "Congratulations to the whole team for a good season opener! I'm very excited about our new team and how we all went out there and performed well. We will be competing on December 9th ,10th at Roanoke College and we are looking forward for amazing track meet."

Virginia Union will now compete in the Cregger Invitational at Roanoke College in Salem, Va., on December 9 and 10.
