Virginia Union University's Robert Osborne had a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds as VUU downed Millersville University 62-49 on the second day of the Trojan Conference Challenge on Saturday, November 12, in Petersburg, Va.
Osborne hit seven of 14 shots from the field in addition to dishing out four assists.
VUU's Keleaf Tate and
Raemaad Wright each scored 11 points as the Panthers moved to 2-0 on the season.
"Any time you can get a win at the beginning of the year against a PSAC team it's definitely a good win," said VUU Head Men's Basketball Coach
Jay Butler. "The Conference Challenge is one of those times during the year where you began to get a little separation in the region. To go 2-0 this weekend is big for us."
Virginia Union will now travel to Uncasville, Conn., to compete in the Chris Paul Classic. The Panthers will meet Clark Atlanta University at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, and will then meet either Johnson C. Smith University or Xavier University on Wednesday, November 16.
