Virginia Union University's Maysun Creery had three service aces, but Virginia State University defeated the Lady Panthers 25-21, 25-21, 25-23 on Thursday, October 27, in Petersburg, Va.
 
VUU's Amilex Lopez-Ayala had 10 kills and 10 defensive digs while teammate Ashlee Franklin garnered 16 assists in the match.
 
"I felt our ladies played well through adversity tonight," said VUU Head Volleyball Coach Joe Sullivan.  "We plan to build on positives and keep tweaking our weaknesses!"
 
Virginia Union wraps up the 2022 regular season when the Lady Panthers face Elizabeth City State University at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
