Led by the commitment of two different All-Americans, Virginia Union men's track and field signed the strongest class of incoming signees in recent history. Despite the cancellation of the 2020 outdoor season hitting track and field community at both the collegiate and high school level, the Panther program remains focused on defending their 2019 CIAA Cross Country Championship title, and retaining podium finishes on the track.

In alphabetical order, the following men have signed their National Letter of Intent to represent the maroon and steel this fall:

Jalen Hinton – Western Branch High School – Chesapeake, VA
Multi-time New Balance All-American Hinton was ranked #16 in the US in the 55 meter hurdles (7.43) following the indoor 2020 campaign. He was 25th in the country in the 300-meter dash (34.55), and 30th in the US in the 55-meter dash (6.41). Hinton is also a 5-time VHSL AAAAA All-State honoree.

Willie Hinton IV – Deep Creek High School – Chesapeake, VA
A key newcomer to the CIAA defending championship program, Hinton will contest cross country where he holds a 16:33 5,000 meter PR, and also on the track in the 800 (2:00) and 1600 (4:40). Hinton previously was primarily a basketball player, and will be entering his first full year with running.

Anthony Morgan – Coffeyville Community College – Greensboro, NC
A multi-time NJCAA All-American while at Coffeyville Community College, Morgan holds a 48.36 personal best at 400 meters, and was a member of AA finishing 4x400 meter relay teams at the NJCAA National Championships. While at Greensboro High School Morgan was an NCSHAA All-State finisher with a time of 48.80.

Eric Pierce – Hermitage High School – Richmond, VA
A four-time VHSL AAAAA All-State long sprinter, Pierce holds PRs of 10.90 (100m), 21.85 (200m), 34.90 (300m). Prior to the cancelation of the 2020 season, he was the #5 ranked sprinter in his VHSL returning class, and is a multi-time New Balance National Championship qualifier.

Eric White – Greenbrier High School – Evans, GA
White is a Georgia AAAAAA All-State long hurdler, where he finished 3rd in the state as a junior in 2019; he holds a PR of 39.44 in the 300 meter hurdles. White will also contest in the short hurdles and run cross country as he displays incredible range with a 16:55 personal best in the 5,000 meters and will look to assist VUU in defending their CIAA title.
