Virginia Union University's Tyriek Railey scored 25 points and added six rebounds as the Panthers' downed Lincoln University of Pennsylvania 91-81 on Saturday, February 15, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

Terrell Leach had 23 points for the Panthers. Raemaad Wright added 14 points and six rebounds in the victory.

The Lions hit the first basket of the game but would never regain the lead.

"It was another good team win today," said VUU Head Men's Basketball Coach Jay Butler.  "Tyriek got us off to a great start in the first half with 17 points and Terrell picked it up in the second half with 16 points.  Raemaad Wright did a good job finishing around the basket and controlling the paint.  I was happy for Rasheed Gatling, who led us with six assists and Charles Tart III was one point from his first career double double with nine points and 10 rebounds."

The win raised VUU's record to 16-10 overall and 9-4 in the CIAA.  The Panthers are currently second in the Northern Division of the CIAA with two games left to play.

Lincoln fell to 8-19 overall and 4-10 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now faces Bowie State University at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
