WATCH GAME | Virginia Union University's
Jordan Peebles recorded his third double-double of the season with 17 points and 14 rebounds while teammate
Terrell Leach scored a game-high 24 points as VUU defeated Bluefield State College 71-67 on Monday, December 2, in Bluefield, W.V.
Â
It marked the Panthers' first road win of the season.
Â
"It's feels good to get that first road win," said VUU Head Men's Basketball Coach
Jay Butler. "I thought we played great defensively in the first half,  holding Bluefield State to 23 points.   In the second half we took a few plays off defensively and put them on the foul line too much. It allowed them to hang around . I thought
Terrell Leach played really well in the first half along with
Jordan Peebles. They connected on a couple alley-oops that really got us going early. Jordan continue to rebound the ball well with 14 rebounds."
Â
VUU's
Keshon Tabb led the Panthers with four assists while
Raemaad Wright blocked three shots.
Â
The win evened Virginia Union's record at 4-4. Bluefield State fell to 3-5.
Â
Virginia Union now returns home to face Shepherd University at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
