Virginia Union University's women's volleyball team, despite suffering a 25-20, 13-25, 25-19, 22-25, 13-15 loss to Chowan on Friday, November 2, Murfreesboro, N.C., have captured the #2 seed in the Northern Division of the CIAA.
Chowan and Virginia Union tied in conference winning percentage and division winning percentage. They then split in head-to-head. When point spread was tallied, the Lady Panthers were a +8 in the first match and the Hawks a +6 in the second, which puts the Panthers at the advantage to the No. 2 seed.
As the #2 seed in the North, Virginia Union will host the first round of the CIAAÂ Volleyball Tournament at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va., against either Winston-Salem State University or Fayetteville State University.

Jamaica Adams had 21 defensive digs.
The loss gave VUU a regular-season record of 12-14 overall and 11-6 in the CIAA. Chowan is now 11-16 overall and 11-6 in the CIAA.
