In the 77 years in which Barco-Stevens Hall has stood on the Virginia Union University campus, the storied hall had never hosted a CIAA Tournament Volleyball Game, until Tuesday, November 6.
On that day, the VUU women's volleyball team took defending CIAA champion Winston-Salem State University to a dramatic fifth game before losing 25-20, 19-25, 17-25, 25-15, 15-11.
Virginia Union was led by
Jayshil Oatley and
Ambryanna Moore who had nine kills apiece. Moore also had four service aces and four blocks in the match.

Virginia Union finishes the 2018 season with a final 12-15 record while Winston-Salem State is now 16-14.
