Virginia Union University's
Ambryanna Moore and
Jada Starling had 11 kills apiece to lead the Lady Panthers to a 25-15, 25-9, 25-16 win over Elizabeth City State University on Monday, October 29, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
Between the second and third sets, VUU saluted the three seniors on the team, Moore,
Minne Masoe and
Zaquae Downton.
Masoe collected 13 assists while Downton had eight defensive digs.
Moore also had two service aces in the match while teammate
A'rmaria Wright led the Lady Panthers with 14 assists.
VUU's
Jamaica Adams had 17 digs while
Kamryn Young had four blocks in the win.
The win raised Virginia Union's record to 12-13 overall and 11-5 in the CIAA. Elizabeth City State fell to 4-21 overall and 4-12 in CIAA play.
The win also moved VUU into second place in the Northern Division of the CIAA. Virginia Union wraps up the regular season when it travels to Murfreesboro, N.C., to face Chowan University at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2.
