Box Score Virginia Union University's Jayshil Oatley had nine kills, but Virginia State University defeated VUU 25-12, 25-20, 25-15 on Monday, September 26, in Historic Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

VUU's Jamaica Adams had 10 defensive digs while teammate Esha Atkins had 11 assists.

Virginia Union's Arianna Bethel had seven kills while Atkins and Oatley had eight digs apiece.

The loss dropped VUU to 8-4 overall and 3-2 in CIAA play.  Virginia State is now 8-4 overall and 4-1 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now travels to Raleigh, N.C., to compete in the second CIAA Round-Up on October 1 and 2.
