Box Score Virginia Union University's Fernanda Faustino collected 16 defensive digs, but Virginia State University defeated the Lady Panthers 22-25, 25-18, 26-24, 22-25, 15-7 in a five-game match in Petersburg, Va., on Monday, September 28.

VUU's Ambryanna Moore led the Lady Panthers with 12 kills while teammate Esha Atkins had 33 assists.

Virginia Union's Natalia Gascot also had 14 defensive digs in the match.

The loss dropped VUU to 5-5 overall and 3-2 in CIAA play.  Virginia State is now 7-6 overall and 4-1 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now travels to Lincoln University, Pa. to compete in the CIAA Volleyball Round-Up II.  The Lady Panthers will face Fayetteville State University and Shaw University on Saturday, October 3 and will then face Saint Augustine's University on Sunday, October 4.
