Box Score Virginia Union University's Natalia Gascot had 15 defensive digs, but Shaw University defeated the Lady Panthers 27-25, 25-12, 25-10 in the opening round of the CIAA Volleyball Tournament, held on Friday, November 20, in Fayetteville, N.C.

VUU's Esha Atkins had 17 assists and six digs of her own in the match.

Virginia Union's Fernanda Faustino led the Lady Panthers with eight kills with 25 total attacks.

The loss ended VUU's season and gave the Lady Panthers a final season record of 11-14.
